eConsult has gone: use SystmConnect now
If you searched for Queens Park Medical Centre eConsult, there is an important 2026 update: the practice no longer uses eConsult. Queens Park moved its online patient requests to SystmConnect in October 2025.
Queens Park Medical Centre is at Farrer Street, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 2AW. The practice’s current reception number is 01642 618170, and its normal surgery hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:30pm.
SystmConnect Replaced eConsult: What Changed?
Queens Park published the change on 10 October 2025. The practice says it moved from eConsult to SystmConnect because SystmConnect integrates with its SystmOne clinical system.
The practice says eConsult is no longer in use.
Queens Park formally moved its online patient requests.
Use the current “Submit an online consultation” button.
What Queens Park says you can use SystmConnect for
Medical advice
Request help with symptoms or a non-emergency medical problem.
Sick / fit notes
The practice lists fit-note requests among the tasks available through its online consultation route.
Administrative requests
SystmConnect can be used for requests such as letters, forms and questions about test results.
Start on Queens Park’s homepage
Open Queens Park Medical Centre rather than an old bookmarked eConsult page.
Select “Submit an online consultation”
That is the route the practice currently tells patients to use to enter SystmConnect.
Answer the questions shown
The practice says you will be guided through a short set of questions so the request can be sent to the appropriate member of the team.
Use reception if SystmConnect is difficult
Queens Park specifically says patients having difficulty with SystmConnect should contact reception for assistance.
If you want to compare this change with a nearby Teesside surgery that still uses a genuine eConsult route, see our Village Medical Centre eConsult guide for Middlesbrough . It is a useful reminder that online systems vary even between practices in the same wider region.
Urgent and Routine GP Appointments Use Different Timeframes
Queens Park’s current appointments page separates requests into urgent and routine needs rather than promising every patient the same appointment type or timeframe.
The practice says to phone 01642 618170 or visit reception during opening hours, Monday to Friday.
Queens Park publishes the same telephone or reception route for routine appointment requests.
Reception will ask what you need help with. The practice says this information is used to choose the most appropriate doctor, nurse or other health professional.
Telephone consultation
Queens Park may offer a consultation by telephone. Its appointment page says phone appointments can sometimes allow a doctor or nurse to help sooner.
Face-to-face consultation
Face-to-face consultations remain part of the practice’s published appointment options.
Home visit
The practice says housebound patients who need a home visit should preferably phone before 11:30am. Queens Park says it will call first to understand what is needed.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
Queens Park gives several options:
- NHS account / NHS App.
- The practice’s online cancellation form.
- SystmOnline.
- Call 01642 618170 and select Option 2; the practice describes this as a 24-hour answering service for cancellations.
- Visit reception while the surgery is open.
SystmConnect, NHS App and SystmOnline Do Different Jobs
This distinction is easy to miss and is one of the most useful things to understand before contacting the practice.
| Service | Queens Park currently uses it for | Account required? |
|---|---|---|
| SystmConnect | Sick-note requests, questions about test results, administrative requests and online consultations. | The practice says you do not need an account to use SystmConnect. |
| NHS App / NHS account | Repeat prescriptions, results, parts of the health record, appointment management and vaccination information where enabled. | NHS login required. |
| SystmOnline | Repeat prescriptions, test results, parts of the record, appointment checking/cancellation and other enabled functions. | Yes. Queens Park says patients can register through the surgery. |
Queens Park Surgery Opening and Telephone Hours
The practice’s current contact page publishes the following surgery hours and says the phone lines are open from 8:00am to 6:30pm.
| Day | Published surgery hours | Patient note |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 8:00am–6:30pm | Use the appropriate phone, reception or online route. |
| Tuesday | 8:00am–6:30pm | Extended-access appointments after 6:30pm are separate. |
| Wednesday | 8:00am–6:30pm | Check current notices before a time-sensitive visit. |
| Thursday | 8:00am–6:30pm | Opening does not guarantee a walk-in GP appointment. |
| Friday | 8:00am–6:30pm | Allow for weekends when ordering routine medicines. |
| Saturday | Closed | Pre-booked extended-access appointments may still be available elsewhere. |
| Sunday | Closed | Use NHS 111 for appropriate urgent help. |
Evening and Weekend Appointments Are Provided Off-Site
Queens Park says extended access is provided for its patients by Hartlepool and Stockton Health.
Published availability: 6:30pm–9:30pm.
Published availability: 9:00am–5:30pm.
Another regional example of how an NHS surgery can use a separate extended-access route is explained in our Peaseway Medical Centre eConsult and GP-access guide .
Repeat Prescriptions: NHS App and SystmOnline Are the Main Routes
Queens Park’s current prescription guidance says the easiest repeat-ordering routes are:
- NHS account through the NHS website or NHS App.
- SystmOnline.
- A paper repeat form brought to the surgery while it is open.
Collection timing
The practice says the prescription can usually be collected from your nominated pharmacy 2 working days after ordering.
Urgent request
Queens Park defines an urgent request as one where you have run out and need the medication that day. It says urgent requests require the accompanying form and must be supplied in writing at the surgery.
Prescription questions
For a prescription query, the practice says to call the surgery and choose Option 3. The published query-line times are 9:30am–11:30am and 1:30pm–3:30pm.
Test Results and Fit Notes Have Their Own Routes
Queens Park says it will contact you if reviewed results show that more tests or treatment are required. Once a doctor has reviewed the result, you can use the practice online form or phone reception during opening hours.
If you have been off sick for more than 7 days, the practice provides an online fit-note route. For an initial request, you can also phone reception while open.
Registering With Queens Park Medical Centre
The NHS profile currently says Queens Park Medical Centre is accepting new patients, and the practice homepage says new patients are welcome to register online.
Check the practice catchment
Queens Park tells new patients to check that they live inside its practice area before submitting the form.
Choose online or paper registration
The practice currently offers an online registration form. You can also collect a paper form from reception while the surgery is open.
Have your NHS number if you know it
Queens Park says having your NHS number is helpful, although current NHS England guidance says an NHS number is not required simply to register.
Understand the named-GP system
The practice says it operates a Personal List System: each patient is registered with a named GP and, where possible, sees that doctor for continuity of care.
If Queens Park does not cover your address, our UK NHS GP and medical-centre finder explains postcode searching, catchment checks and how to register with another practice safely.
Some Common Problems Can Start With Pharmacy First
Queens Park actively signposts the NHS Pharmacy First service. The practice says participating pharmacies can assess certain common conditions and, where clinically appropriate, supply NHS medicines.
Sinusitis
Pharmacy First includes sinusitis for eligible patients aged 12 and over.
Sore throat
Eligible children and adults aged 5 and over may be assessed through the service.
Other listed conditions
Queens Park also lists earache in eligible children, infected insect bites, impetigo, shingles and uncomplicated urinary tract infections in eligible women.
Pharmacy First is not an emergency service and not every patient or symptom will fit its criteria. A pharmacist can explain whether the service is appropriate.
Queens Park Is Part of North Stockton Primary Care Network
The practice identifies itself as part of North Stockton PCN, together with:
- Queens Park Medical Centre.
- Tennant Street Medical Practice.
- Alma Medical Centre.
The practices work together to provide additional roles and services. Queens Park says a patient may be offered an appointment with a member of the PCN team depending on the problem.
Its current published PCN team includes roles such as clinical pharmacists, mental-health practitioners, social-prescribing link workers, a health and wellbeing coach, care coordinator and pharmacy technician.
Accessibility, Parking and Public Transport
Physical access
Queens Park says consultation rooms have good disabled access. The surgery is step-free and has a ramp and wide doors for wheelchair access.
Communication support
The practice’s accessibility statement says it has audio induction loops and can arrange a British Sign Language interpreter if contacted before the visit.
Parking
Free on-street parking is published outside the practice but is restricted to one hour. The practice also signposts Laing Street and Hume Street car parks.
