Choose the Right Cedars Medical Centre Route First
| Need | Use this first | Exact useful detail | Avoid this mistake |
|---|---|---|---|
| GP appointment request | Blinx / Digital Front Door | Total Triage means you complete an online form, a GP reviews it, and the practice decides the next step. | Do not assume phone call automatically means a GP slot. |
| Cannot use smartphone/computer | Call reception | Cedars says reception can help digitally challenged patients complete the form during opening hours. | Do not avoid care because you cannot use the online form. |
| Routine nursing/admin query | Digital Front Door if available | Some nursing and admin requests can be submitted online. | Do not use urgent/emergency routes for routine admin. |
| View records / blood results | NHS App or Patient Access | Use app/online services to view GP record and blood results where enabled. | Do not assume lab-uploaded results have already been reviewed by the GP. |
| Repeat medication | NHS App / Patient Access | Cedars says to continue using NHS App or Patient Access to review and order repeat medications. | Do not wait until you run out before ordering. |
| Blood test booking | Call 020 8429 9595 if requested | Cedars lists phlebotomy clinics Wednesday-Friday, 9am-1pm, by booking. | Do not book blood test unless it was requested or discussed. |
| Sick/Fit note | Self-certify first 6 days; GP note after 7 days | Extensions can be requested online via Digital Front Door. | Do not book an immediate appointment just to extend a sick note if not needed. |
| Closed or urgent non-emergency | NHS 111 | 111 is for urgent medical help that is not a 999 emergency. | Do not wait until Monday if urgent. |

Book Appointment: Total Triage Steps
Use the online form first
Cedars says all GP appointment requests use Total Triage through an online form.
Submit during core hours
The form can be completed during core opening hours. A policy page says the practice was preparing to provide online access from 8am to 6:30pm from 1 October 2025.
Give one clear reason
State symptoms, duration, medication, red flags, and whether you can manage phone/video/face-to-face.
GP reviews same day
The appointment page says a GP reviews the form the same day and decides the most appropriate next step.
Expect contact
In most cases, the practice says it contacts patients on the same day the request is submitted.
Cancel if you cannot attend
If you booked through an email/SMS link, use the same link to change or cancel where possible, ideally with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Blinx Digital Front Door: What to Use It For
GP appointment requests
Use Blinx to explain why you need GP help. The practice reviews the request and chooses the safest next step.
Nursing/admin questions
Cedars says some nursing enquiries and appointment requests can go through the Digital Front Door.
Not for emergencies
Use 999 for life-threatening symptoms and NHS 111 for urgent problems when closed.
NHS App and Patient Access: Records, Medicines and Results
NHS App
Cedars says patients can use the NHS App to check symptoms, order repeat prescriptions, view GP records and check urgent help via 111 online.
Patient Access
Use Patient Access where enabled to manage supported appointments, medication and record tasks.
Repeat medication
The appointment page says to continue using Patient Access or NHS App to review and order repeat medications.
Blood results
Cedars says blood results can be viewed in NHS App/Patient Access or requested via Digital Front Door.
Cedars Medical Centre Doctors and Team
Doctors listed by the practice
The official team page lists doctors including Dr Ritu Prasad, Dr Vethuran Somas, Dr Aman Gajree, Dr Kinnari Joshi and Dr Dhashi Thanapal.
Wider practice team
The team page also lists nursing staff, the Practice Manager, practice administrators and patient-services reception/admin staff. Total Triage may route you to the most appropriate person, not always a GP.
Repeat Prescriptions: NHS App, Patient Access and Timing
| Prescription task | Best route | Patient action |
|---|---|---|
| Routine repeat | NHS App or Patient Access | Check available repeat items, request the medicine, and choose/check the pharmacy. |
| Medication review due | Follow practice instruction | Book review if requested before running out. |
| Medicine not visible online | Digital Front Door / practice contact | Explain medicine name, strength, dose, who prescribed it and why needed. |
| Blood-result-linked medicine | GP/nurse review may be needed | Do not assume high-monitoring medicines can be issued automatically. |
| Urgent supply problem | Pharmacy / NHS 111 if needed | Ask the pharmacy first if you run out unexpectedly; use 111 if urgent and appropriate. |
Blood Tests and Results: What Cedars Says
Booking blood tests
Cedars says phlebotomy clinics run Wednesday-Friday, 9am-1pm; call 020 8429 9595 to book if you have been asked to have a blood test.
Viewing results
Use the NHS App, Patient Access or Digital Front Door to view/request copies of blood results where available.
Result caution
Cedars warns that lab results may appear in the NHS App before a GP at the surgery has reviewed them.
Sick/Fit Notes: 6-Day Self-Certification and Online Extension
| Situation | Cedars detail | Best action |
|---|---|---|
| First 6 days off work | Cedars says you can complete a self-certification form. | Use employer/surgery form. |
| After first 7 days | You need a sick note/Fit Note from the GP. | Use the practice route. |
| Hospital admission | Hospital should provide the sick note and post-discharge period if needed. | Ask hospital team first. |
| Extension only | Immediate appointment may not be necessary. | Ask reception or use Digital Front Door. |
| Private note for first 6 days | A private note requires a fee. | Confirm fee before requesting. |
Home Visits: When Cedars Says They Are Appropriate
