Woolstone Medical Centre: Patient Access, Online GP 2026

London GP guide • Accurx Triage • Patient Access

Woolstone Online GP Without the 8am Rush

Woolstone Medical Centre changed the way routine doctor appointments are requested in September 2025. Instead of needing to telephone or arrive at 8am simply to ask for a doctor appointment, patients can now submit a request through the practice’s Accurx Triage system.

Patient Access and the NHS App still matter, but their functions are not identical to the new GP-triage route. This guide separates those systems so you can start in the right place.

Accurx or Patient Access? Use the Right Woolstone System

Woolstone now has a clearer separation between asking for a routine doctor appointment and using an established GP online-services account.

NEW GP

Accurx Triage

Current route for routine doctor appointment requests and medical or administrative submissions through the surgery website.

PATIENT

Patient Access

Woolstone continues to publish Patient Access resources for supported online services such as appointment management, repeat prescriptions and record access.

NHS
ACCOUNT
NHS App

The practice actively promotes the NHS App for supported appointments, prescriptions, medical records and messages.

Important: seeing an appointment function inside Patient Access or the NHS App does not mean every GP doctor request can or should be booked directly there. Woolstone’s current published route for routine doctor requests is Accurx Triage.

Choose the Right Woolstone Route

What you need Start here Current Woolstone detail Avoid this mistake
Routine doctor appointment Accurx medical request Submit through the Contact us online route on the practice website. There is no longer a need simply to call or arrive at 8am to request a doctor appointment.
Administrative request Accurx admin form Administrative requests can currently be submitted seven days a week. Do not submit a medical problem through the admin form.
No internet / cannot use Accurx Reception Call 020 8699 1062. Reception can assist with completing the form. Digital access is not required in order to ask the practice for help.
Nurse, HCA, physiotherapist or pharmacist Reception The practice says to call or visit for appointments that do not require a GP. Accurx doctor triage is not the universal booking form for every clinic.
Repeat prescription NHS App Woolstone actively encourages the NHS App for repeat-medication requests. Repeat prescription requests are not accepted by telephone.
Test result NHS App / Patient Access Results may be visible online after GP review. If calling, the practice asks patients to enquire after 2pm.
New-patient registration Practice registration The current NHS profile says Woolstone is accepting new patients. Do not confuse GP registration with registering separately for online record access.
Evening/weekend GP appointment Lewisham Extended Access Additional pre-booked GP appointments are published for evenings and weekends. They are not ordinary Woolstone walk-in hours.

Woolstone Accurx Triage: How GP Booking Works

Woolstone introduced Accurx Triage for routine doctor appointment requests from 17 September 2025.

Start on Woolstone’s official website

Use the Contact us online option displayed by the practice.

Choose medical or administrative request

Use the medical form for a routine GP problem. Administrative requests should go through the administrative route.

Submit during the correct period

Current Woolstone guidance says medical requests can be submitted Monday to Friday, 8:00am–6:30pm .

Administrative requests are currently accepted seven days a week.

Wait for clinical review

The practice says requests are reviewed by clinicians in the order received. Depending on the request, the response may be a call, message or appointment arrangement.

Usually reviewed the same day: Woolstone’s transition guidance says a routine doctor request submitted through the triage service is usually reviewed by a doctor on the same day. This describes the practice’s published review process; it is not a guarantee of a particular appointment time or consultation format.
No internet access? call 020 8699 1062 or contact the surgery. Woolstone says reception staff can help complete the Accurx form for patients who cannot use the online system.

Woolstone Medical Centre Opening Hours

The current practice website publishes the following core surgery hours.

Day Core opening hours What to remember
Monday 8:00am–6:30pm Medical Accurx requests use the same published weekday window.
Tuesday 8:00am–6:30pm Training or bank-holiday closures may differ.
Wednesday 8:00am–6:30pm Check your individual appointment time.
Thursday 8:00am–6:30pm Current notices can temporarily change access.
Friday 8:00am–6:30pm Check ahead before bank holidays.
Saturday Closed Extended-access GP appointments are separate.
Sunday Closed Extended-access and NHS urgent-care routes are separate services.
Practice opening hours are not the same as every online-service window. Woolstone’s December 2025 triage update says administrative Accurx requests can be submitted seven days a week, even though ordinary surgery opening and medical-request hours remain Monday–Friday.

Nurse, HCA, Physiotherapist and Pharmacist Appointments

Woolstone’s 2025 Accurx transition notice makes an important distinction: the new triage system is specifically the routine GP doctor appointment route.

Practice Nurse

Continue to call or contact the surgery for the appropriate nurse booking route.

Healthcare Assistant

Contact reception rather than automatically using the GP medical-triage form.

Physiotherapist or Pharmacist

Woolstone’s triage guidance similarly tells patients to call or visit the surgery for non-GP professional appointments.

Why this matters: sending a non-GP booking request through the wrong online pathway can create unnecessary back-and-forth. If you already know you need a particular practice clinic or professional, contact reception on 020 8699 1062.

Patient Access at Woolstone Medical Centre

Woolstone’s online-services pages continue to reference Patient Access and GP online services. Supported online functions can include:

BOOK

Supported appointments

Online-service registration information lists booking and cancelling appointments as available functions, although the practice warns that some services may not always be available.

RX

Repeat prescriptions

Patient online services can support repeat medication requests where enabled.

RECORD

Medical record access

Authorised online access can allow patients to view parts of their GP record.

Online-services registration is different from registering as an NHS patient. Woolstone may require identity verification before granting detailed online record access. That is an account-security process and should not be confused with the separate question of whether you can register as a patient with the GP surgery.
Appointment availability can be restricted online. Woolstone’s Patient Access guidance explicitly says that some online services may not yet be available and advises patients to check with reception. For a new routine doctor request, use the current Accurx Triage process described above.

NHS App at Woolstone Medical Centre

Woolstone now gives the NHS App a prominent place on its website and describes it as a secure way to access NHS services from a phone, tablet or browser.

APPT

Appointments

The practice says supported appointments can be booked or cancelled through NHS App functions available to the patient.

MEDS

Repeat medication

Woolstone specifically encourages patients to use the NHS App for repeat prescriptions.

DATA

Records and messages

The practice says NHS App access may include medical-record information and messages from the surgery.

Think of Accurx and NHS App as complementary. Accurx is Woolstone’s current routine doctor-triage route. The NHS App is the broader NHS account route for supported records, prescriptions, appointments and messages.

Repeat Prescriptions at Woolstone

Woolstone currently encourages patients to use the NHS App because the practice says it provides a safer and more secure repeat-prescription route.

NHS

Recommended route

Use the NHS App/NHS account for medication that is available on your repeat list.

48H

Practice processing

Woolstone says prescription requests can take up to 48 working hours to process.

ALT

Other routes

The practice also publishes a one-off prescription request form and paper/post arrangements for relevant requests.

Telephone repeat requests are not accepted. Woolstone says this policy helps avoid medication errors and keeps phone lines available for other patient needs.
48 working hours means practice processing time. It does not guarantee that a pharmacy will have medication ready at exactly the same time. Check your NHS App or pharmacy arrangement before travelling to collect medication.

Test Results and Online Access

Woolstone says it contacts patients if a result is abnormal and treatment or further investigation is required.

NHS App

Reviewed results may be available through authorised NHS online access.

Patient Access

The practice also says results may be viewable through Patient Access after GP review.

Telephone

Woolstone asks patients who are telephoning about results to call the surgery after 2:00pm.

This page does not interpret medical results. Follow any official message, treatment instruction or follow-up request issued by Woolstone Medical Centre.

Registering With Woolstone Medical Centre

The current NHS profile states that Woolstone Medical Centre is accepting new patients.

Start with the current registration page

Woolstone offers an online registration process and also publishes an in-person route.

Complete the practice registration information

Follow the current questions provided by Woolstone or the NHS and submit personal information only to the official service.

Keep online-services registration separate

After becoming a patient, additional identity verification may be required if you request enhanced Patient Access or detailed online-record access.

Named GP: Woolstone’s registration information says all registered patients have a named doctor with overall responsibility for their care, while patients remain free to see another available doctor at the practice.

Official Registration Information

Evening and Weekend GP Appointments in Lewisham

Woolstone’s current extended-access information says registered Lewisham patients can use additional pre-booked GP appointments outside ordinary practice hours.

8–8

Extended hours

Woolstone currently publishes Extended Access appointments as available from 8:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week, including bank holidays.

BOOK

Must be booked

The service is not presented as a walk-in service. Contact your practice in the usual way to request an available extended-access appointment.

UHL

Different location

Woolstone’s current information places the service in the Yellow Zone at University Hospital Lewisham, not at Woolstone Medical Centre.

Check the appointment location carefully. An evening or weekend GP appointment offered through Lewisham Extended Access may not take place at Woolstone Road.

Accessibility at Woolstone Medical Centre

Woolstone publishes practical accessibility information for patients who need physical or communication support.

Ramp access

The practice says wheelchair access to the building is available using a ramp near the front entrance.

Ground-floor services

Patient services are published as being available at ground-floor level.

Accessible toilets

Woolstone lists a disabled WC near the front entrance and another on the first floor.

Hearing loop

A loop induction system is listed at reception for patients with hearing impairment.

Need specific support? Woolstone asks patients with special needs to tell staff so arrangements can be considered. If a particular access feature is essential for your visit, confirm it with reception before travelling.

Woolstone Medical Centre CQC Rating

The current Care Quality Commission page displays Good overall for Woolstone Medical Centre.

GOOD

Overall

CQC currently displays the practice’s overall inspection rating as Good.

SAFE

Safe

The inspection summary shows Requires improvement for the Safe key question.

2022

Report publication

CQC published the inspection report on 21 November 2022 following an inspection in October 2022.

Other CQC key questions: Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led are shown as Good on the current inspection summary.
CQC ratings are regulatory assessments. “Good” is not treated as a patient-review star score, so this page does not create Review or AggregateRating schema.

I want to register with Woolstone

The current NHS profile says Woolstone Medical Centre is accepting new patients. Use the current practice registration page and submit private information only to the official service.
